OMG OMG Wreck-It Ralph OMG

I first found out about Wreck-It Ralph from a poster I saw during a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios a few weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been silently geeking out about a Disney animated feature based in the world of video games. And then, today, Knize posted the trailer to my Facebook:

You can’t even IMAGINE the amount of happiness this brings me, much like the book (that I really, really love) Ready Player One, which is also mostly played out in a video game. More than anything I love the references to old games that are part fanservice and part serious plot development. I’d say that moreso than “nerds” in general, gamers are ruling the day, with things like chiptune music, movies, books, and so many bigger and better advances to game technology.

I’m just… SERIOUSLY, LOOK AT THIS! As I’m sitting here, wishing I was in California getting my grubby hands on all the shiny new video games, I’m still able to wallow in the pixely goodness that is game culture. Streaming live video from the E3 conference, the Wreck-It Ralph trailer… I LOVE THE FUTURE!

P.S. I bought a new Turtle Beach gaming headset today. Squeeeeeeeee.
